After 10 years of organising A.G’s ever popular Classic Car Show Tony Porter has decided to retire from this momentous task. Over the years Tony has persuaded many people from across the country to bring their beautiful classic cars , bikes and old commercial vehicles to the show on the green, now it’s time for a rest for him and a change for the committee. Can you help? Is there someone out there who can join the committee to help organise next years event? The show has raised valuable funds for a lot of village organisations including the Pre School and swimming pool. If you think that you could help, please contact Tony Porter or Tim Abrahall for more information.
The Parish Council heard a plea for two new councilors, following previous resignations. Pippa Unwin was reinstated as a councilor and Ian Stainton was voted on as a new councilor. There is still a vacancy on the council if anyone is still interested. The meeting heard that the swimming pool was doing well, with lots of folk using it during the half term holiday.  Bantham Swoosh will take place on Saturday June 24th at 7am and 7pm. The transfer of swimmers usually takes place safely and quickly and no traffic problems were anticipated. There will be some sponsored swimmers this year to raise money for our pool, each hoping to raise about £400 pounds for the pool, which will help with running costs. Paul Cherry told the meeting about a letter he had received back from the Modbury Hunt, after an incident in January. He will send another letter after not being satisfied with the hunts reply.
The Bingo evening held on Friday has proved very popular and has raised £130 for the shop maintenance fund. There may well be another event later in the year.

Last year’s show was successful, but there is always room for more entries, and it’s a fun experience. There will be cups to compete for, so there is an element of challenge, and rivalries to embrace.
