Village Voice with Rosie Warrilow – 2nd May

With the weather warming up beautifully it’s great to report the start of the cricket season for Aveton Gifford Cricket Club. Our boys in white will be off to East Prawle on Sunday May 4thto kick off their efforts for 2014. I know its quite a trip but I’m sure they will welcome any intrepid fans that make the journey. As I remember it, the cricket pitch there is pretty good and refreshments for the tea break were always very good, so why not make the journey on Sunday?  Our boys are also looking for more players for this season so why not give it a try? Membership secretary is John Reynolds on 07977781047 for more details. The cricket club is holding a Pub Games night at the Fisherman’s Rest tonight at 7.30pm, which always proves to be great entertainment.

The Cricket Club will also be holding its Big Car Boot Sale on Sunday May 18th from 9am -1pm on the Shooting Field. The field will be open for setting up from 8.00am on the morning, refreshments for the sellers will be available from 8.30am, and dogs are welcomed but are to be kept on leads.
